Expect to be invited to plenty of backyard weddings this year, as couples on a budget are likely to shorten the lengths of their engagements and opt to hold their ceremonies near the comforts of home.
Buttercream icing will be replacing the fancy and expensive fondant-covered cakes that have been a wedding staple in recent years.
Other trends to watch out for include green weddings, which will feature environmentally-friendly LED lights, and electronic invites through email or social media.
