As excited as we were to see these sketches, it now looks like they were published in a while back — though that doesn’t make them any less beautiful or any less likely to be chosen.

Last week, we heard that Zac Posen had signed on to design Bella Swan’s wedding dress in the latest installment of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. Now, it appears that Posen is just one of many designers with their name in the ring — nine of which agreed to share their sketches with InStyle.

Erin Fetherston, Prabal Gurung, Christian Siriano, and Brian Reyes, among others, all offered up their take on the dress author Stephanie Meyer describes as something that looks like it “stepped out of an [Jane] Austen movie.”Amazingly, all of the designs look like they’d be perfect — with the exception of Reyes‘, which looks kind of like a brown paper bag to our untrained eye — and we highly recommend taking a gander through InStyle’s gallery. But an insider told E! Online that the dress has already been chosen — and that it’s not good.

 “It’s hideous,” dishes our insider. “And it’s not the designer’s fault. Let’s just say someone who has final say on the matter has decided upon a terribly conservative and ugly gown.”That sounds like a euphemism for Meyer if we ever heard one. In the meantime, we’ve picked our four favorite dresses out of InStyle’s lot — let’s hope it’s one of these.
