The perfect Miami beach wedding

The perfect Miami beach weddingIf you are like me, you’ve dreamed of an intimate beach wedding, barefoot on the sand.  Lucky for us, getting married in Miami, there are plenty of beaches to choose from.

If you want to have a ceremony on the beach, you most likely need to get a permit from the City of Miami since beaches are mostly public.

You will also need to hire a company to rent chairs, and for flowers, music and photography/videography.

You may find it easiest to have your wedding in a restaurant or hotel that is located on beachfront property, for example, The Palms Hotel on South Beach.

A ceremony on the beach is simple and understated, yet beautiful and natural.  Your guests will most likely be in casual attire.

Such as linen pants and short sleeve button down shirts for groomsmen and sundresses for bridesmaids.  The wedding gown should also be simple to compliment this beach wedding.

After the ceremony, I would have a catered late lunch reception for guests.  I love the idea of hiring an Island or reggae band to keep with the feel of the beach wedding.  I would consider serving Caribbean food or Cuban Cuisine because of the island theme and Miami culture.

To keep costs down, I suggest serving just beer and wine (see dream wedding on a budget), and perhaps one signature cocktail.  The Palms Hotel serves White Sangria with apples, pears and mangos as their signature cocktail.

The décor of the wedding would also be in keeping with the beach theme.  For example, as a centerpiece for reception tables, I would want a hurricane candle holder with a candle in sand and seashells around the holder.

This would be very inexpensive to create.  There is also an abundance of beach themed wedding invitations as well.  Don’t forget to use eco-friendly paper products, such as invitations and napkins (see eco-friendly green wedding). When I think of Miami, I almost always think of the beach.  While I know this may not be the ideal wedding for every couple, it has always been a dream of mine to get married in beach fashion.
